A Teachable Spirit
JOHN 17:15-17
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world (kosmos = world’s system of order – like governments etc.).
17 ¶ Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
(Pontius Pilate asked the question “What is truth”, he didn’t know the answer, but we know the answer – God’s word is Truth)
JOHN 15:26
26 ¶ But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth (Notice here that it is telling us that truth is a spirit, and we know truth is also a person, so therefore a lie must also be a spirit and a person, and we also know that everything that is not of the truth is a lie), which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
JOHN 14:17-18
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 ¶ I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
A Teachable Spirit
We know that if a person wants to learn something quickly, then for that to happen, it requires that individual to have a teachable spirit in that particular choice of knowledge.
To be successful in any channel of knowledge, you have to “want” to learn about it, you have to develop a thirst for that selected choice of knowledge; in other words, you have to be interested in what you are wanting to learn.
And we know that every person’s field of interest is different – it is something that you are born with.
On the other side, it is very hard to teach someone something that they are not really interested in, and this what often causes children to fail in school – because frequently the school curriculum and learning style is different to the particular child’s interests and also the way that the child is wired by God to learn, and this make learning difficult and boring and uninteresting for them, and it seems to the child that the information is so disconnected and unrelated to them and to their everyday world that they live in, and so it can be very hard for the student to learn under those conditions – and then we call them dumb and put them in some backward class when they are not backward at all – it is just that the teaching system is so rigid and narrow that it is unable to bring out the hidden talent of what God has placed in each individual.
And that is why as parents we have to try to find and bring out that hidden talent laying in our children, and design their learning around that God given ability.
PROVERBS 4:1-9
1 ¶ Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
3 For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
Our Father is God, and so we are to be taught by our heavenly father who is the fountain of all knowledge and wisdom.
But many people fail to learn things from the Lord because they do not possess within themselves the right attitude and thirst and love for the truth and the deeper things of God, and so therefore the spirit to be able to be taught by the Lord in the revelation of the word is not really there as it should be, and so that is why over the years that some people don’t always grow very much in their knowledge of the Lord, and because of that, their relationship with the Lord does not grow either. Many times also we allow the distractions of life to overshadow the things and wisdom of the Lord.
PROVERBS 16:16
16 ¶ How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

REVELATION 2:7
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
REVELATION 2:11
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
In each church age we know that the term “having an ear” is referring to being able to hear what the spirit is teaching for the age that you live in, so we know that those who “have an ear” (who by election are ordained to hear the word) must also by necessity possess a teachable spirit in the channel of the word promised for the age.
Notice also that each age required a different hearing – a different group of elected people that had something placed in them to be able to receive that particular type of knowledge that God had giving for that time.
REVELATION 2:17
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
This statement “he that hath an ear” we know is repeated throughout the seven church ages, and it is always associated in some way with the overcomer for that age, because we know that outside of the revelation for your age you cannot overcome the deception for your age because that is what the revelation does, it reveals the deception for the age that you live in.
Laodicean Church Age
REVELATION 3:21-22
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
It is hearing what the spirit of God is teaching for your age – but for you to be able to hear that teaching in the right way, it requires for you to have a teachable attitude and spirit within you in the channel of the knowledge of that revelation or you will never come to a full understanding of it.
ISAIAH 54:13
13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
When we are taught by man, it often does not bring peace.
When you go to university and end up with a degree and a student debt - that does not always bring a person peace, it will often and more than likely bring them financial pressure and cause them to be stuck in a certain job for the rest of their life.
But when we are taught of the Lord, then we are promised that He will lead us through life, and He will bring us into a great peace.
PROVERBS 17:16
16 ¶ Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?
PROVERBS 17:16 New International Version
Why should fools have money in hand to buy wisdom, when they are not able to understand it?
In this Laodicean age we are given money in the form of student debt so that we can go to university and be taught the ever changing wisdom of man, so that by the time we are around 25 or 26 years old and a third of our lives have been used up and our heads are filled up with all the things that have little or nothing to do with the world that is to come, then we have to work for the rest of our lives so that we can pay our taxes and pay off our student debt loan – and people will happily do all of that, but when it comes to being able to understand the word for the age that they live in, then that requires a person to have an inner ear to hear what the spirit is teaching for their age, and that teaching is what we will take with us into the world that is to come.
TO.SEE.JESUS_ CHICAGO.IL SUNDAY_ 54-0718E
E-4 …And I'm so happy tonight, to know that--that Jesus has not forsaken the people in this great day that we're living, under this great strain that we're all under today, yet our Lord has not left us. He said, "I will not leave you comfortless. I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, and He will abide with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth, Who the world cannot receive."
E-5 I am very thankful that this Spirit of Truth was to be with us to the end. And that Spirit of Truth is none other, but the Lord Jesus, Himself, in spiritual form. For He said, "A little while, and the world seeth Me no more. Yet you shall see Me, for I'll be with you, even in you, to the end of the world." And that means tonight. And wherever we are, we have the comforting Words of knowing that Jesus will be with us.
To many of you people here, who go to little churches, no matter how small the church is, Jesus said, "If even two or three, were gathered together in His Name, He'd be with them." What a comforting Words it is to know no--no matter how small our little congregation is, yet the Lord Jesus is with us, and we're happy for that.
Opening scripture
JOHN 14:17-18
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 ¶ I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
We know that the general unbelieving people of the world cannot receive the spirit of truth to understand the things of God for the day that they live in - you can teach them anything else known in the known Kosmos except for the revealed word of the hour.
Not even people from a previous age are able to fully grasp the word for the next age if they live long enough to hear the teaching of it, and so only the elect for this age have a teachable spirit in the channel of this revelation when it comes to being taught the word for this age, and this is the age of the full meat of the word.

87 Listen, brothers. Listen to this. "All tables are full of vomit; there's no clean place. Who shall He teach knowledge? Whom shall He make known--understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breast." Not little babies, Presbyterian babies, Methodist babies, Pentecostal babies, Lutheran babies, Nazarene babies, He wants somebody that's willing to get away from the breast and eat some strong meat.
Denominational church systems feed their people milk out of baby bottles – so you have to come out of that system in order to be able to eat the meat of the full word that has been given to the bride of Christ in this hour – and sometimes we come out of denomination, but the spirit of their teaching does not come out of us, and that is what blocks the channel of understanding for the word of this hour, that is why we have to die out in our thinking to our past understanding of what we were taught by man.
ISAIAH 28:9-10
9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
HIS.UNFAILING.WORDS.OF.PROMISE_ PHOENIX.AZ V-15 N-3 MONDAY_ 64-0120
61 And how many of you remember that I told you that the Angel of the Lord, in that Pillar of Fire, that--that met me up there, and told me, if I'd "be sincere," it would come to pass that I "would know the very secret of the heart." How many remembers that, said it would be that way?
62 Now, how many remembers that He promised that it would continue on? And, not long ago, for a vision, He promised about that pull of that line, said, "You can't teach Pentecostal babies supernatural things." And when I made the third pull, He said, "Now don't tell nobody about this. You been trying to explain that other. Don't tell nobody about this. This is the great and final pull." How many remembers that being predicted?
63 See, He never fails. Those things happened, one, two, three, just like they were.
