A Study in “Well Doing” Pt.2
GENESIS 4:6-7a
6 ¶ And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7a If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. A lot was dependent on whether Cain did well or not – his own personal idea was of what God would accept as a sacrifice was rejected by God, and the reason he was angry was because God had refused to accept the way that he wanted to do things – he wanted to be the boss, he didn’t want God to rule over him by the revelation of the word.
To do well in the sight of God is to come into obedience to the revelation given for your age.
II THESSALONIANS 3:13
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. (According to the scripture, you can become weary in continuing to do the will of God according to the revelation of the word that has come in your day)
A Study in “Well Doing” Pt.2
This study is mostly inspired from the message TRYING TO DO GOD A SERVICE WITHOUT IT BEING GOD'S WILL or DOING GOD A SERVICE WITHOUT IT BEING HIS WILL - SHREVEPORT LA - 27 November 1965
He has also preach this same sermon back in Jeffersonville on the morning of the 18th of July 1965
GALATIANS 6:9
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Well doing is not necessarily doing what we think is well doing, that is where so many make their mistake in life, many people try to do God a service of what they think He will accept but it is outside of God’s divine will for the age and he won’t accept it – well doing is actually doing the will of God for the age that you lived in – and many people can get weary of that because it often seems like there is little benefit in the present and its more acceptable to follow the will of the crowd.
***Noah in his day built an ark after the pattern of what God had showed him, and that was well doing, anything outside of that was rejected and was ultimately destroyed, but for Noah and his family, there was no immediate benefit for him and his family over the 120 years, it was hard going at times, year in and year our until the harvest time came, and so Noah and his family had to not grow weary of doing the will of God for that age and over the 120 years that he took to build the ark.
Cain thought that he was doing well when he worked hard and brought the best of the fruit of his labours as a sacrifice to the Lord, but we know that he was actually doing God a service outside of His will and the revelation for that age – obedience to the word is better than sacrifice, and it is harder for many people to obey the simple word of God then it is to do a sacrifice outside of His will.
THE.PRINCIPLES.OF.DIVINE.HEALING_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 51-0923
E-14 It's been a long time, my dear friends, here in Jeffersonville. Probably, no doubt at all, but a few years ago, that some of the people thought I'd mentally slipped when I begin to speak of God being the same yesterday, today, and forever. In my heart there was something that anchored there that I could not get away from. And I know that someday God would give me the privilege to prove that that was right, because it is the Scripture.
And today I am very happy to be in my hometown with a Divine vindication of the truth, that's universally known, that the statement that I have made concerning our Lord Jesus it's the truth, that God has testified it to be the truth.
Don't never be weary in well-doing, for you will certainly reap in due season if you faint not. Always do that which is right.
**Notice how that at the beginning brother Branham was misunderstood for taking the stand for that truth that he believed, but he did what was right according to the word, he continued and wearied not in the well doing of staying with the truth of the word, and in the end it paid off many times over.
Well doing is to keep the standard and our service in the original message that God has sent for this hour by a vindicated prophet of God.
DANIEL 4:27 (this is Danial’s advice to Kind Nebuchadnezzar after interpreting his dream of the tree that was cut down)
27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness (Righteousness = right doing, or doing right – or we could say “well doing” Notice this is Danial a prophet talking to a King – A Theocracy giving advice to a Monarchy, and the Monarchy failed to heed the advice and his spirit was changed into the spirit of an animal), and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity (Prosperity).
Recap a little from last week…
Theocracy verses Monarchy and Democracy
A democracy is the people choosing their own ways and leadership based on what the majority thinks is right and best at the time – and mostly this is not based on the word of God, but it is based on what the majority think will make life more prosperous for them – but the reality is that things do not get more prosperous under this system but eventually this system of government will fail as it has always done in the past?
One of the problems with democracy is that the majority of the people are very easily persuaded by whatever information that they are given at the time – true or false, and so they will mostly vote for the politicians or parties that promises them the largest access to the state treasury in the form of financial and state benefits.
While a Theocracy is the governing of the people by the divine leadership of God leading the people though a vindicated prophet as he did back in Israel through Samuel before king Saul became king and changed the form of governing the people from a Theocracy to a Monarchy, a monarchy is a king as a single ruler and governor of the people.
122-1 SMYRNAEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.4
Just as the early church started out under the pure ministry of the Holy Spirit with signs and wonders and manifestations such as prophecy, tongues, and interpretation, wisdom, knowledge and healing, so in the days of Israel when they left Egypt, they were under the leadership of the Spirit of God manifesting in gifts. God was the leader of the people. Actually He was their King. He was a Father-King. He took care of Israel like a man cares for his family. He fed them, fought their battles, smoothed away their difficulties and settled their problems. He just busied Himself over them. They were the only nation to which He was truly God. But one day they got to looking around, and they saw the Philistines and other nations with kings over them. It caught their eyes and they decided that they ought to humanize their leadership, so they wanted a king. Now God was going to humanize the leadership Himself, in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, but they got ahead of Him. Satan knew the plan of God so he put it in the hearts of the people to get ahead of God (the Word).
When they approached Samuel and asked for a king, Samuel was so dismayed that his heart almost failed him. God had been leading His people through this consecrated, Scripture-vindicated prophet and he felt that he had been rejected. He gathered the people and pleaded with them not to turn away from the God Who had carried them like children, and prospered them and blessed them. But they persisted. They said to Samuel. "You have never been wrong in your leading. You have never been dishonest in your financial dealings. You have done your best to keep us in line with the Word of the Lord. We appreciate the miracles, wisdom, provision and protection of God. We believe in it. We like it. And furthermore we don't want to be without it. It's just that we want a king to lead us to battle. Now of course when we go out to battle it is still our intention to have the priests go ahead with Judah following, and we will blow the trumpets and shout and sing. We don't intend to stop any of that. BUT WE WANT A KING WHO IS ONE OF US TO LEAD US."
And God said to Samuel. "See, they have not rejected you, but they have rejected ME from ruling over them."
How tragic that was. Little did they realize that when they were asking God to let them be like the rest of the world they were rejecting Him, because God had ordained that His people act different from the world. They are not of the world and they don't look like the world and they don't act like the world. They are crucified unto the world and the world is crucified unto them.
II Corinthians 6:17-18,
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
You see the one difference between Israel and the rest of the nations was God. Put God to one side and Israel was like any other nation. When Samson cut off his hair he was like any other man. Put the leadership of the Holy Ghost aside and the church is NOTHING BUT THE WORLD WITH GOD'S NAME ATTACHED TO IT.
DANIEL 4:18-36 (We want to see this Theocracy and Monarchy relationship in this story of Danial CH4 because we will also see this relationship of Theocracy and Monarchy throughout the scriptures with the kings and the prophets)
18 This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
19 ¶ Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
20 The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;
21 Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:
22 It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
23 And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness (right doing, – “well doing” Notice again, this is a prophet of God talking to a King – a Theocracy giving advice to a Monarchy who had dominion over a kingdom just like we have dominion over our little kingdoms of our lives, just like Cain was a free moral agent and had been given dominion over his little kingdom world of his choices, but we know that the Monarchy (King Nebuchadnezzar) failed to heed the advice from the channel of the divine Theocracy from the advice of Danial the prophet, King Nebuchadnezzar did not do well, and his spirit was changed into the spirit of an animal, but if he had heeded the advice, then he would have done well and he would have lengthen his prosperity), and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
28 ¶ All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.
34 ¶ And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
